Race Night Success. 2011.
Great Yarmouth Lions Club organised a Race Night to support the James Paget Palliative Care East Appeal at the Cliff Hotel in Gorleston on Saturday 26th November Over 100 members and friends of the Lions club put their hands in their pockets and raised a whopping £862. A special thank you to compere Chris Speed without whom some of the horses would be without riders as his special pleading technique brought out the best and bets from the eager punters. Lion Janice Barr was the driving force behind the scenes along with the management & staff of the Cliff a super evening went without a hitch. Clare Martins won the traditional Christmas hat competition this year with her delicate creation of tumbling snow.
